Earlier today, I pointed out in a post that millions of folks with insurance from their employers would see those policies cancelled starting January of 2015. I was too lenient in what I said. Kentucky’s Department of Insurance just reported that 150,000 people in plans created for employees of small companies are having their policies cancelled now. That's just one state which is far from the largest. If each of the fifty states saw the same numbers of cancellations in the next month, fully 7.5 million folks working in small businesses would have their insurance policies cancelled. Most likely, the number will be higher than that.
Before the Obamacrats tell us that this is just a few people when you consider that the entire country has over 300 million people, let's think about the suffering that these cancellations are going to inflict on this group. How many of these people are going to be able to pay substantially more for their insurance than they are currently paying? How many are going to have to chance going without insurance in the hopes that they won't get sick. How many of these people are going to be left one illness away from bankruptcy?
Something has to be done before the entire country is ruined.
