Are you old enough to remember the Coneheads on Saturday Night Live? The Coneheads were a family of aliens who had come to Earth and were living among us. When asked where they had come from, their answer was, "France." The obvious lie was always funny.
We now have a new member of the Conehead family. This time, it's Sally Kohn, the political commentator who consistently tells lies like the Coneheads did. Sadly, however, Kohn's lies are not funny.
I first had the chance to see Kohn when she appeared earlier this year as a panelist on Fox News' Special Report. Kohn managed in two minutes to claim that president Obama was a budget cutter who was trying to prevent spending from getting out of control. The others on the panel were doing double takes as she spoke. Kohn's dishonesty was so great that she was never again seen on that show. After all, Special Report has panelists with all sorts of political views (from Dennis Kucinich to Andrew Napolitano), but the show prides itself on a reasoned and honest discussion of the issues.
With the disclosure of just how dishonest president Obama has been in selling Obamacare, Kohn has resurfaced with more lies to tell in support of Obama. Today, she is out with her one-woman counter offensive. She has a piece on Salon called "The Rights most Loathsome Obamacare Lie Yet". Want to hear what that loathsome lie is? According to Kohn, the lie is that conservatives are saying that some folks wanted to have insurance that did not have all the bells and whistles that are required by Obamacare. That's right, those conservatives are saying that some Americans wanted more of a bare bones policy in order to keep their costs down. Of course, the problem with Kohn's argument is that she never says why the claim is a lie. All that Kohn does is to tell us that people should not want bare bones policies. Get it? If you disagree with Kohn or Obamacare, then you are lying.
Someone ought to tell Kohn that she is neither funny nor insightful. She is just a loud mouthed embarrassment.
