The judge in the latest criminal prosecution of a police officer to come out of the death of Freddie Gray acquitted the defendant of all charges. The police lieutenant had been charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office. The judge (who is African American) found that there was insufficient proof to show that the policeman had violated any law.
This is the fourth defendant to be tried. So far, there have been NO convictions. Marilyn Mosby, the States Attorney (the equivalent of the District Attorney) in Baltimore is 0 for 4. She brought charges against six police and it seems likely that all of them will be acquitted. Clearly, Mosby did not have evidence to back up her prosecutions. Instead, she was pandering to the mob. It's a disgrace that someone in charge of enforcing the law would instead harass police officers to satisfy mob demands.
It really is time for Mosby to resign.
