Yesterday, we had the latest attack on police. This time it was in Baton Rouge. The man who attacked and killed the police officers was himself killed. So now comes the question of who the terrorist was and why he did what he did.
That all may sound simple, but that last question is anything but simple. This morning, after many details about the terrorist have been released, CBS News described him only as a "former US Marine". That's correct, but it is far from complete. Why doesn't CBS also mention that the terrorist was a member of the Nation of Islam, the so called "Black Muslims"? Why doesn't CBS mention that the shooter was an African American who posted videos on the internet denouncing "crackers". Why? Shouldn't America know who the shooter was? Why must CBS decide to edit his description to conform to their political narrative?
In many respects, the treatment of the Baton Rouge terrorist is like the treatment of the ghoul who attacked in Nice a short time earlier. It's very clear that he was a terrorist acting for ISIS, but many of the networks still talk about the need to "determine his motives". Why does the media try to twist the facts of the story to fit their preferred version?
It's both disgusting and dangerous.
