Jim Comey, the director of the FBI, announced this morning that the bureau would not recommend criminal charges against Hillary Clinton. He made clear, however, that anyone else who did the same thing would normally at least lost his or her security clearance or be fired by the government.
Here's what Comey said:
To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now.
I guess there's no question about it: it pays to be a Clinton and have special rules just for you.
