No, this is not about global warming. It is, however, about how stories that are inconvenient or which conflict with the narrative just disappear from the mainstream media.
Here's a good example: just a few days ago, we had another of those mass shootings that usually get so much coverage. This one occurred at a gaming contest in Jacksonville Florida. The shooter was David Katz, a 24 year old white guy from Maryland. When the shooting went down, there was huge coverage. When the details of just who the shooter was and how he got his guns were learned, the media just dropped the story. First of all, Katz used hand guns, not assault rifles, so there was no angle to the story with regard to the supposed need for an assault weapons ban. But it got worse. Katz got all his guns legally in his home state of Maryland, and that state has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation. That means that Katz had to pass background checks among other things. But it got worse. It turns out that Katz was troubled and sometimes violent. The police were called to his home 26 times because of something he had done. He was hospitalized twice for mental illness. He was on strong anti-psychotic drugs. But even with all that Katz passed the background check for each of his weapons. It just destroys the gun control narrative about the need for background checks when you see someone like Katz passing that background check in a strict gun control state like Maryland.
Because Katz basically undermines nearly all the points made by the gun control crowd, the media decided to stop covering this story. It's just gone from most news sites. In a battle between the inconvenient truth and the liberal narrative, it seems that the narrative always wins.
