In the school year of 2015 to 2016, there were over 250 school shootings in the USA. Those are the figures that the Obama Department of Education released two years ago. It's a horrifying number that ought to supply a big push towards some sort of gun legislation aimed at schools. There's a problem, however: the number is bogus. A detailed bit of research was done by NPR reporters who reached out to every district for which the feds claimed there was a gun related incident. NPR is a very far left media outlet that normally supports gun control 150%. What the NPR reporters found was that only 11 out of more than 250 incidents were confirmed by the districts in question. In nearly all cases, the districts said nothing had happened.
It's hard to believe that the Obama administration would lie so blatantly about these statistics, but it certainly seems that they did. Sure, there could be some mistakes included, but these statistics were more than 90% wrong. That has to be intentional.
How could we have a government that was prepared to put out phony stats just to support Obama's views?
By the way, whether you think there needs to be strong gun controls or not, I suggest you read the NPR story at the above link. It's a real eye-opener.
