The hearings for judge Kavanaugh are rapidly approaching. There was a rather bizarre and laughable request by the Democrats on the Judiciary Committee to delay the hearings because Michael Cohen pleaded guilty the other day. What's next? Will they seek delay due to global warming? Big foot sightings? Alien mind control?
It's pretty clear that Senator Susan Collins is going to vote to confirm Kavanaugh after her meeting with the judge the other day. It's also appearing more likely that Democrats from ND, WV and IN are likely to support confirmation as well. The three are in close re-election battles and don't want to buck their constituents.
Most likely, Justice Kavanaugh will be sitting on the Supreme Court by some time in October. Maybe he'll be there for the start of the next term.
