Common Sense Gun Safety Laws at Work In Canada

In Canada, there is nationwide registration of most guns.  There is a limit on the size of magazines; none can hold more than five rounds.  There are limitations on the type of weapons that can be sold.  There are individual licenses required which must be obtained from the government prior to purchase of a weapons.  In other words, all of what the American liberals call "common sense gun safety legislation" is already in place in our neighbor to the north.

So how are all those gun laws working out?  Have they stopped the mass shootings as the liberals promise us they will?

The answer is simple.  NO!  This morning there was a mass shooting in New Brunswick.  Four people were killed and many more were wounded.  Two weeks ago, there was a mass shooting in Toronto in Ontario.  There have been others across Canada this year.  In fact, the number of mass shootings in Canada with its strict gun laws is roughly the same as the number in the USA adjusted for population size.

How can that be?  The left tells us after each tragedy that the problem is the lack of gun laws.  If only we had those laws, there would be no more shootings.  The truth is that they are wrong.
