What do you think of someone who pays others either not to say bad things about him or, at least, to keep silent about those bad things? Should someone pay others to keep his good name from being besmirched?
These days, most people reading that paragraph would think about President Trump paying women for silence about alleged affairs with him. I wasn't referring to Trump however. I was talking about the owner of the Washington Post and Amazon, Jeff Bezos. It's been discovered that Bezos has Amazon paying employees who work in Amazon's warehouses to post favorable items on social media about what it is like to work in those places. Employees who find the working conditions poor and the compensation inadequate are being paid to sing the praises on line of Amazon as a place to work.
Why does the WaPo condemn Trump's payments to Stormy Daniels as inappropriate while remaining totally silent on Jeff Bezos doing basically something worse. Daniels was just supposed to keep quiet. Bezos paid for employees to tell lies on line.
