Beeto O'Rourke is the Democrat running against Ted Cruz for the senate in Texas. As happens every election cycle, the media is trying to paint O'Rourke as the Democrat who will finally break the Republican's hold on the Lone Star state. When the primary was over, there were a few polls that put O'Rourke within 2% of Cruz. That lead for Ted Cruz has widened now to about 6-8% in most polls.
Now, however, there has been a development that should end any chance O'Rourke has for success. It's been disclosed that Beeto was arrested in the past for burglary and also for DUI. He has a story of a "youthful indiscretion" while in college that supposedly "explains" the burglary charge. The DUI, however, was resolved by O'Rourke going through a special program for DUI offenders under which they went to school and had the offense expunged from their record. It's the DUI erasure program for those who have the means to get into the program.
One arrest could be overlooked. Two arrests are likely to sink Beeto's campaign. His was always a long shot attempt, but he probably no longer has any chance to win.
